Bayern proceeds to next round of DFB Pokal after Hamburger SV defeat
Bayern munich have reserved a seat in next round's DFB Pokal. The German reds were able to get a seat in the next round of the competition after winning in Hamburger SV's Imtech Arena. The guests took the lead only seven minutes into the start of the game after defender Heiko Westermann's back pass for goal keeper Jaroslav Drobny was anticipated by Thomas Muller, who snatched the pass before it could reach the keeper and passed it to Robert Lewandowski, who put Bayern in front, scoring his first goal in the contest. A long shot fired by David Alaba put Bayern ahead of their opponents by two goals just one minute before the half-time whistle. Just eleven minutes into the start of the second half Frank Ribery, makes it 3 - 0 before Pierre-Michel Lasogga, gets a ball into Manuel Neuer's net decreasing the gap to 3 - 1. Giving Bayern a win that qualifies them to the next round as the dinosaurs continue their failure. This victory brings Bayern back to the winning rhythm after 0 - 0 draw with Borussia Moenchengladbach ahead of their fixture against Borussia Dortmund in Round 10 of the Bundesliga on Saturday.
